Conga & Docomotion to Titan Migration

If your organization still relies on Conga Composer, Conga Sign, or Docomotion for document generation and e-signatures, it may be time to consider moving to Titan Docs. We handle the full migration – from template audit to go-live – so your team can transition without disruption.

Why Organizations Are Moving Away from Conga and Docomotion

Conga Composer has been a staple in the Salesforce document generation space for years, and Docomotion served a similar role for organizations that needed template-based output from CRM data. Both tools worked well in their time, but the landscape has changed.

Common reasons organizations reach out to us about migration:

  • Consolidating tools – Titan Docs combines document generation and e-signatures in one platform, which can reduce overall licensing costs compared to running separate tools.
  • Future-proofing – Organizations want a platform that is actively developed, well-supported, and aligned with the direction Salesforce is heading.
  • Unified documents and e-signatures – Having document generation and signing in one platform simplifies the workflow and reduces the number of vendors to manage.
  • Native Salesforce Flow support – Titan Docs works directly with Salesforce Flows, so document generation can be triggered declaratively without Apex code.
  • Easier template management – Titan Docs uses a visual drag-and-drop editor that Salesforce admins can work with directly, without needing specialized template syntax.
  • Portal-ready – If you need customers or partners to view, download, or sign documents through a portal, Titan Docs integrates directly with Titan Web.

What Titan Docs Offers Instead

Titan Docs is part of the Titan DXP platform, which means it connects natively to Salesforce and works alongside Titan Forms, Titan Web (portals), and Titan Sign. This is not just a document tool – it is part of an integrated ecosystem.

  • Visual template editor – Build and edit templates in a drag-and-drop interface. No Word merge fields, no special syntax. Your Salesforce admins can update templates without developer help.
  • Dynamic content blocks – Show or hide sections of a document based on Salesforce field values. Conditional content that adapts to each record automatically.
  • Built-in e-signatures (Titan Sign) – No need for a separate e-signature tool. Documents generated in Titan Docs can be sent for signing immediately, with the signed version stored back in Salesforce.
  • Salesforce Flow triggers – Generate documents directly from Salesforce Flows. Record-triggered flows, screen flows, scheduled flows – all can call Titan Docs without Apex.
  • Real-time Salesforce data – Documents pull live data from Salesforce at generation time. Related records, lookup fields, formula fields – all accessible without custom queries.
  • Portal integration – If you use Titan Web for customer or partner portals, documents can be generated, viewed, and signed directly within the portal experience.
  • Audit trail – Every document generation, view, and signature event is logged and linked to the Salesforce record. Full traceability for compliance requirements.

Our Migration Process

We have migrated organizations from both Conga and Docomotion to Titan Docs. The process is methodical and designed to minimize risk to your day-to-day operations.

Step 1: Template Audit and Inventory

We start by cataloging every template in your current system. For each template, we document the Salesforce objects and fields it references, any conditional logic, output formats (PDF, Word, Excel), and how it is triggered (button click, Flow, Apex, batch). We also identify templates that are no longer in use – migration is a good time to clean up.

Step 2: Data Model Review

Some Conga templates rely on custom Apex queries or report-based data sources. Before rebuilding templates, we review the underlying data model to ensure Titan Docs can access the same data. In most cases, Titan’s Push/Get integration handles this natively. In rare cases, we may need a small Salesforce Flow to prepare the data.

Step 3: Template Rebuild in Titan Docs

Each template is recreated in Titan Docs using the visual editor. We do not do a one-to-one copy – we take the opportunity to improve layouts, add dynamic sections where appropriate, and simplify the template structure. The goal is a template that looks better and is easier to maintain than what you had before.

Step 4: E-Signature Setup

If your current process involves Conga Sign, DocuSign, or Adobe Sign for signatures, we configure Titan Sign as the replacement. Signature fields are placed directly in the Titan Docs template, and the signed document is automatically stored in Salesforce. We set up the routing (who signs, in what order) and notification emails.

Step 5: Workflow and Trigger Migration

We transition existing buttons, triggers, or workflow rules with Salesforce Flows that call Titan Docs. Titan’s native Flow integration makes this straightforward and often simpler than the original setup.

Step 6: Testing and Validation

We generate documents from real Salesforce records and compare the output side-by-side with the legacy system. We check formatting, data accuracy, conditional sections, and e-signature flows. Your team reviews the output and provides feedback before we proceed.

Step 7: Go-Live and Cutover

We plan the cutover to minimize disruption. Typically, we run both systems in parallel for a short period, then switch users to Titan Docs and retire the previous tool. We provide training for your team on managing and updating templates in Titan Docs.

What About Existing Documents?

Documents already generated by Conga or Docomotion and stored in Salesforce (as attachments or files) are not affected by the migration. They remain in place. Only new document generation moves to Titan Docs. If you need to re-generate historical documents in the new format, we can set that up as a separate batch process.

Timeline and Effort

Migration timelines depend on the number and complexity of templates:

  • Small (5-10 templates, simple) – 2 to 3 weeks
  • Medium (10-25 templates, some conditional logic) – 4 to 6 weeks
  • Large (25+ templates, complex data sources, e-signatures) – 6 to 10 weeks

These timelines include audit, rebuild, testing, and go-live support. Use our Project Estimator for a more specific estimate based on your situation.
